[ Cheers and applause ] [ Cheers and applause continue ] -There's songs on this album that are very hopeful, and there's songs on this album that are very heartbroken.
Um, and I think that's life, and I think this album just reflects that, like, roller coaster, you know?
I'd say overall, you just keep trudging on.
Um, and that's why I ended the album, as I did, like, on "Every Color in Blue."
It's not, like, a happy note.
It's not like I have any wonderful advice for anybody.
It's just my experience, you know?
Each one of these songs is like a story of what I'm going through, what I'm feeling, what I'm exploring.
So I like to just put them together, and it just becomes this little, you know, glass world, and, um, I like it like that 'cause I can look back and just see my life in that way.
And I like that.
I feel like a lot of healing comes from self-awareness, and I don't necessarily think, like, in our culture and our society, that there's like a lot of importance put on that.
I think we have a very materialistic society, which I think is changing.
I really do, 'cause a lot of people now talk openly about therapy, talk openly about mental health.
Um, there's still some work to be done around that, but, um, a lot of what drives us is capitalism, and I think there's more to life.
Um, there's definitely more to life.
And self-introspection can heal a lot of things.
And I think just one of the problems our world has is just passing on pain over generations and over time, and nobody ever becomes the person to heal it 'cause it's a lot of work.
It's, like, tons of work.
Um, I'm proud of my generation and the next generation who has a lot of interest in being, um, a happy, peaceful person, you know?
When I'm on stage, you know, it's a very vulnerable thing to be on stage, and maybe I'm, like, running around the stage and I'm roaring and being loud and swinging my arms around and, um, feeling very comfortable up there -- still very vulnerable.
Still want people to be on your side.
And so, yeah, it's important to me to look out in the crowd and see there's someone who's feeling it, who feels the way I do, and then it becomes, like, a whole room of them.
And it's kind of like this, um, energy exchange.
And it's really beautiful, and it's why I keep doing it.
It's kind of like, if you were bullied in school and there's, like, that one kid that was like, "Hey, don't do that," and helped you up -- you know what I mean?
It's close to that.
It's kind of like -- it's really -- it's kind of scary to be on stage and just do your best.
And -- And it's scary to put yourself in a position of being criticized, you know?
And it's nice to look and see somebody's on your side and somebody feels the way that you do and then they're singing the words back to you and then it all makes sense again, you know?
