Jonathan Cain of Journey on Writing “Faithfully” in Saratoga Springs
The rock band Journey was first booked at Saratoga Performing Arts Center before they were well-known but they had accumulated a following by their first concert at SPAC. Jonathan Cain talks about how he wrote the start to lyrics on a napkin and finished the song – which became “Faithfully” – on a piano backstage at SPAC while the crew and band were eating before the show.
