I think we got this covered now.
Carol: Liam Manley's clothes.
Do you want to tell us why they were in your bedroom?
He asked me to look after them last night.
Tasha, you kept them for close to 24 hours.
That was evidence that could tie him to a robbery.
Well, I couldn't hand them over without blowing my cover.
I didn't plan on getting arrested.
Alex: Let me guess-- Donna Burnside.
She must have seen us together in the pub.
Carol: So why did Liam come to you?
You asked me to get close to him.
Yeah, but that was after you give him a false alibi.
Yeah, but I needed to get him on side.
Our forensics team, they've just got back to us.
The paint flecks that were on Ryan Stanford's trousers, they're not a match for Callum's van.

Well, that rules him out of Ryan's murder.
And puts Liam Manley right back in the frame.

Liam isn't a killer.
He's dangerous and unpredictable, which is why I'm taking you off the case.

I read up on Tasha's pre-assessment.
There were concerns expressed about her mental health, family issues, the rift with her dad.
There was nothing in that file that was a deal breaker.
You knew?

I was her handler, made it me business to know.
Maybe your own history is clouding your judgment here.

The whereabouts of those clothes are as yet unknown, so we are releasing you as a person under investigation.

Unless forensics come back with a positive test, there is nothing that ties Tasha to any of this.

I'm just a consultant.

It's just that we have a witness who's testified that Ryan Stanford couriered large sums of money to this stud.
Which implicates you in criminal activity.
Well, whoever told you that was lying, so unless you've any evidence to back up these claims-- Yeah.
Well, you know, we're working on that one.

Ohh... That phone call from, uh, Ryan, did you mention it to Simon?
