About the Show
"Impossible Builds" is an all-access look at the creation of some of the world’s most ambitious, technologically-advanced construction projects. From subaquatic homes and ultimate luxury, to futuristic towers and pencil-thin skyscrapers, these are the structures they said could never be built. Now, using revolutionary technology and cutting-edge construction materials, three previously-impossible builds are taking shape across the world. "Impossible Builds" follows each step of their progress.
Episode 1 | The Scorpion Tower
Follow the construction of one of the most complex skyscrapers ever to make it off the drawing board. Its design is so radical that construction experts have turned to a building material never before used in skyscrapers.
Episode 2 | Europe in the Desert
Can six sand islands, poking out of the Persian Gulf near Dubai, be transformed into the most luxurious holiday destination on earth? One man believes they can, and he’s risking tens of millions of dollars to prove it.
Episode 3 | The Floating House
Follow the build that could turn the dream of living beneath the waves into a reality as a team in Dubai attempts to construct a floating house, combining the best of land and marine design. Will they achieve the impossible?
Episode 4 | Skinny Skyscraper
Witness the construction of the skinniest skyscraper ever to make it off the drawing board. Located in New York and rising from within a landmarked building the team will attempt to build the world’s thinnest skyscraper on the construction equivalent of a postage stamp.
Episode 5 | Ice World
Over the top, ambitious and nature-defying, China's incredible Ice World will transform 37 acres of sub-tropical quarry into a sub-zero ski resort. The construction team will have to battle the worst nature can throw at them. But If they can pull it off, they'll make science fiction a reality.
